Kony Extensible Clients: Rich Client, WAP, SMS, Gadgets, Desktop App

The Kony Mobile Application Platform has been envisioned and designed organically to support all possible forms of interfacing with a mobile device. To this end, we have designed the Platform to provide "extensible clients" capabilities, including rich, native, downloadable applications, mobile browser applications, mobile web, SMS/MMS services, web gadgets and desktop apps - all from a single application code base.

Kony Solutions allows you to use what we call a single definition or "experience" to create each of today's mobile environments: Rich Client, WAP, SMS. Rich Clients have advanced capabilities for smart devices such as the iPhone and BlackBerry. WAP (Wireless Application Protocol), commonly described as "browser-based" is a standard to access HTTP (the Web) on wireless devices. And SMS, what users call text messaging, completes the universe of devices your business can reach. We also include MMS, which we consider a combination of WAP and SMS.

Many people think that they must settle for a WAP-only mobile presence. Further they think that a WAP version of their website is the extent of a mobile strategy. Further Kony's approach treats a WAP implementation on its own, mobile terms. We think from the mobile potential, not the limits of the Web. Instead, we look to create the functionality that is most satisfying to have on the mobile device. WAP may be the right way to get there for a certain set of devices, but how you see WAP in your mobile strategy has much more potential when you use Kony.

SMS/MMS Services

SMS with Kony's approach can be something much more than you expect. SMS messages can be used to call up information and push information to the mobile device that optimizes the single user experience definition on that device. For instance, a message can retrieve a profile for a social networking application or product information for a retailer. A message can also push information as data changes online. Kony's servers automatically detect SMS -only devices and optimize functionality.

Web Gadgets

Kony Solutions provides a flexible gadget (application) design that drives the creation of unique runtime gadgets for iGoogle, Yahoo!, Facebook, Twitter and others.

Desktop Applications

Similar to on-device mobile applications, these are light-weight applications that are sitting on the users' desktop, designed to provide them with synchronized information from the Kony Mobile Server.
